The power of a thank you...

I have just experienced something really nice - two strangers putting a smile on eachothers faces - in such an easy way... by one giving a honest compliment and then receiving one too. See "the story" on this site : A FAN FROM NORWAY before you keep on reading my blog.

I`ve always been thankful for my things and my life, but last summer, I got my eyes opened for the meaning of really THINK about what you are thankful for.. And that has a powerful affect on my life, on how I now feel, act and what happens when I do. So now its in my habbit to say thank you more often, ofcourse I say thank you to people when I get something, ( i am polite..) but now I really see for myself that I am more aware of my thankfulness/gratitude when people do or are somethink for and to me. I dont know if I explain this in a good way, but I`m trying :)

When I wrote Joyce Shelton, it was just spontanious! I was so happy to get my new workplace, so when I looked at my Picatso, all my good feelings for my art, my holidays in the states, my family, it all just popped up, and I seached her name online and found her blog - that I think is absolutly so sweet!
I didnt then know that she would appreaciate this so much, and it meant so much for me too, to see this - and as everybody else I need reminders of how you act with thoughts of others and thankfulness toward other people and what they do - its not a bad thing, its not scary or even stupid to let them know about you beeing thankful, liking/enjoying and beeing affected of something they did. It might just put a smile on your face.

A new look for my webpage

Again I changed the look of my website. My dearest husband just laughed yesterday when I proudly presented my new work. But as he said, this was so much more personal, so much more me. I think i am moving myself into the right path. I just have to get some of my work into products to put for sale in the webshop. I am getting there too, just wait :)

My blog will now be presenting my artwork, but also work as a creative diary. This Spring will be some months to develope my showroom down at the farm, hopefully it will be open new and fresh for people this fall, and I will be working more with my artconsept. I have many ideas to put out in action, so it will be exiting!

My son will start kindergarden in august, and after that it will be more of the day for just me.

Its scary, but it will be ok to :) I will really enjoy theese upcoming months just beeing "Mamma" and having him droodle his sirkels on his own little board beside my artboard... :)

Feel-Good-Art

This is my newest way of illustrating. It is photography manipulatet with charcoal, ink and pastels.

This is a great way of getting thoose homephotographed, momentcatching and personal pictures into art to hang on the wall - for everyone to see your memories!

I clean the photo from all disturbing factors and bring out the contrasts and to personalize it even more, I ad poems, names, symbols etc.

TODAYS ILLUSTRATION 23.03.2009 is a Feel-Good-Art of
a Grandpa and a Grandson playing togheter. A poem and a frame surrounds them. A great gift for the Grandpa and a good memory for both of them!

You can order one for yourself by visiting my webside http://www.wennersgaard.no/ , if you know Norwegian, or contact me on line@wennersgaard.no for more details on english!

The Flower Fairy. 2008

This is a print of the original, wich is 100cmx100cm, acrylic paint, black and white.
I painted this in 2008, and sold it even before I was completly done. My son is the model, so I do have special feelings for this painting, but I found a way to still work with it, so it`s OK. :)

I photographed it, and worked with it digitaly. Today i am showing the purpul one. (It comes in many colours.)

The Flower Fairy for me stands for the child within you, the curiosity and the wonderful feeling of discovery. I see this daily in my son, and I find myself discover new things too...
Its plain wonderful! Its a way of sensing life, and everybody needs reminders for that...
